I'm thinking about adding more RAM to my Dell OptiPlex 780. It has four DDR3 slots, and I'm planning to install 32 gigabytes. Others have asked similar questions on their forums, but they usually suggest using only 16GB and certified RAM. I want to be sure it's possible and get the right advice.

No, with this cost you should consider replacing other parts. My system needs about 3 gigabytes of RAM, and games require 5-7 GB while there are still 5 gigabytes available on a 16 gigabyte drive. I have 32 gigabytes, but that upgrade didn’t work out. With the price, upgrading the GPU would be better.
