I am stuck on a huge problem that I don't know how to fix. I've checked everything: turned off sticky keys, switched off filter keys, tried turning them on and off again, and even changed keyboards but nothing helps. My keyboard is working right for all keys EXCEPT the 'S' key. When I hold down 'Q', it keeps spamming like 'qqqqqqqqqq'. But when I press 'S', it only types once and then stops repeating. Please help me solve this.
Try turning off your computer and back on up with no power - make sure to read the rules and don't turn off any Microsoft things or Windows won't start properly - go here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help...in-windows It doesn't take away anything, it just stops some programs from starting. Easy to undo if clean boot helps you find the problem program. You should restart a few times and turn back on the programs that were stopped so you can tell which one is causing trouble. have you tried safe mode? Is your keyboard software doing its thing?
I think you have an extra keyboard driver for a program that keeps stopping the S key from working normally. To check, open the registry editor and go here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}. Look at the UpperFilters part. If you only see kbdclass, then maybe it's okay. But if there is another driver listed before that name, that could be your issue. You can remove this extra driver just to test, but some other apps might break because of the keyboard problems.
