PC is nearly eleven years old.

I am attempting to play basic games suitable for my system after researching YouTube; I’m trying to play games that don't require a dedicated GPU since my current PC utilizes integrated graphics.

Currently, I wish to play Prototype, Saints Row The Third, and BioShock-like games. However, even these games exhibit significant lag and are almost unplayable.

My current specifications include an Intel Dual-core E5200 processor, 4GB DDR2 RAM, a 120 GB SSD (recently acquired), and Windows 10.

Nevertheless, I plan to purchase a new budget gaming PC in the future and am beginning to save for it.

Can I install a basic GPU, such as the ASUS GeForce GT 710 2GB VGA, given that my monitor is VGA, temporarily while I save money?

Regarding builds, I intend to acquire a Ryzen 7 1700 processor, 8GB Corsair/HyperX RAM, and a 1080Ti 4Gb graphics card. Will this configuration be capable of running games like Witcher 3 and Days Gone? I enjoy these types of games and want to ensure the build is appropriate.

You could do that, but you would be better off with something like a GT 1030 or Radeon R7 240. Either of those will be much faster than the E5200 graphics and while more expensive than a GT 710 are going to be based on newer technology.
