I returned to the radio shack where I bought some brand new earbuds, asked about their performance at a public terminal PC, and mentioned the audio problems I was experiencing. They suggested the issue might be related to the public PC terminals due to potential viruses, malware, or spyware. They tried the earbuds on a new smartphone, which worked perfectly, and I explained that I had tested them on a new phone as well. They noted that if the problem existed during manufacturing, it would have affected the smartphones too. Should I seek another opinion on this? Did the radio hackers troubleshoot the issue properly?

The headphone jack on the shared computer seems damaged. How many individuals do you believe actually spend the effort to properly insert and take out their headphones? Since it's a public machine, they likely force it in and then quickly detach the cable once finished.

Since occasionally I need to shift the power cord to get audio in both ears, I'm a bit puzzled... Is it the earbuds or the public PC that's causing the problem?

I'm also unsure. Are you asking about the power cord and the headphone audio wire?

If it's the computer and not your earbuds, why did they work perfectly on your smartphone?

This is the public computer, probably.

Many people connect their headphones and then unintentionally remove them at an angle or by pulling on the socket.
The headphones sometimes fail to establish a connection with the curved parts of the socket.
