Are you reviewing files or directories? Windows disregards read-only settings for folders. While a file has a Read-only flag, a folder usually doesn’t. As illustrated in the image from post 2, unchecking the read-only option makes it grayed out when you open the folder properties again. Access is restricted to both files and folders. Attempting to modify through the command prompt didn’t resolve the issue.
