I recently assembled a new PC a few weeks back and everything has been working smoothly. Today I upgraded the CPU to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, replacing the 7800X3D I had before. I also swapped in a used 6800XT to replace the old 5800XT I was still using. After installing the new CPU and cooler, I put the 6800XT in and attempted to boot it. The system displayed a yellow LED indicating a RAM problem. I tried the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 and it also showed the same yellow LED. I followed the manual and installed the two DIMMs in slots A2 and B2, then tested A1 and B1. Eventually, I installed one DIMM in A2 and the system booted without issues. I also returned to the 7800X3D, suspecting a possible issue with the 9800X3D. Recently, I rebuilt the system using a Gigabyte Aorus X870 after concerns about a bent pin on the ASUS motherboard. I installed the Ryzen 7 9800X3D carefully, placed the two DIMMs correctly, and put in the 6800XT. When I tried to boot, it failed with a RAM C5 error. I removed one memory stick and kept the other in A2, which finally worked. *I nearly dropped my hands* I even tested it with the Corsair Vengeance I own and swapped back to the 7800X3D, but the problem persisted. Is there a BIOS setting I should adjust? I just ordered new memory from Gigabyte, listed on their website. Could that be the solution? Who knows now?

They checked each stick individually, not just a single one from either side.

It started with every device in slot A2 launching successfully.

Dual channel support is available in BIOS, and your system appears to be up to date.

Replace your CPU carefully and avoid applying too much force when installing it.

Avoid sending people aimless searches. Without CPU support for microcode updates, there would be no post. Dual channel isn’t a feature you can toggle in BIOS—it never existed.

The screws should be snug enough to secure the air cooler firmly but not so tight that they damage the components.

A channel loss may result from the cooler mount, such as improper alignment, excessive or insufficient pressure.

I'll attempt to ease it up a bit and check the effect
