Think about downloading a huge game, like one bigger than my house. I leave the PC running all night just to finish getting it done. Is there a special program that tells the computer to turn itself off or sleep right after the download and antivirus checks are done?

I'm pretty sure there are some tools you could use to turn your computer off when a download finishes. You can find these online at techdows.com from 2016.

There are apps like autohotkey or eventghost that work on Windows, but I didn't try them because my needs aren't really big enough for basic power management. I just set things up naturally: turn off the screen after ten minutes, shut down the hard drive after fifteen, and sleep the computer thirty minutes before starting to work again.
