I’m planning to assemble a PC with a Ryzen 3 processor, and I have £180 remaining to purchase a motherboard, power supply unit (PSU), and graphics card. It seems unusual, but PSUs are reportedly affordable, so I intend to acquire an older GPU like a GTX 750 or perhaps a used second-hand 1050. Currently, I own a previously built computer received as a birthday gift last year, which includes an FM2+ motherboard and a very outdated AMD processor running at 3.8 GHz (with overclocking). This system lacks a GPU, utilizes a 230-watt PSU, incorporates a Toshiba HDD, and my mother is generously providing me with a Ryzen 3 processor. Therefore, I require a PSU, motherboard, and potentially a graphics card – what would you recommend?

Don't purchase the 880K outright. I located a secondhand computer in just one minute featuring an i7-3770 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 120GB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro for €120. Considering your financial constraints, I strongly advise acquiring a used system with either an i5 or i7 CPU and then enhancing the graphics card if required.

Anticipate your special day and let your mother acquire the primary computer board for you, followed by purchasing the remaining components. Seriously… visit https://pcpartpicker.com/ to explore what performance you can achieve within your budget. Simply begin a new project through the site and proceed from there.

Suggest purchasing the Ryzen 3 2200G due to its integrated graphics; while performance will be limited, it can manage games with reduced settings. You’ll possess a satisfactory gaming setup once you've accumulated funds for a more powerful graphics card – consider exploring used options like a GeForce GTX 1060.

Hold off on purchasing a motherboard until your birthday, letting your mother acquire it for you, then complete the build yourself. Just kidding... visit https://pcpartpicker.com/ and determine what performance you can achieve within that budget. Begin a new build by clicking "start new build" and proceeding from there.

I’m reconsidering the Ryzen option and I've found this.

What do you think?
