It might be a title from any era—80s, 90s, 2000s, or beyond. Share a game that truly transformed your gaming experience. Whether you invested countless hours or just enjoyed it once, let’s talk about it.

In Unreal Tournament, using instagib with a ball mouse and internet connection still allows strong performance in multiplayer.

Dark Souls. Absolutely.
After battling my 7th grade skull with a controller after spending seven hours on Taurus demon and never playing Skyrim again because of its combat, Dark Souls truly changed my perspective on games. I now play everything on hard or very hard, depending on the situation.

Final Fantasy III (FF6 in NA) on SNES is often praised in RPG talks as one of the best titles or all time. Many players replay it and still find enjoyment. Story, characters, visuals, and music make it satisfying from beginning to end. Very few games have matched this quality.

Thief: The Dark Project & Thief II: The Metal Age
Jesus Christ. No game has captured my attention like these in the past two decades. First to integrate shadows and audio for stealth, truly pioneering the stealth mechanic and period system. Metal Gear Solid arrived just two months earlier but relied solely on line of sight. The experience was so smooth, the voice acting exceptional, visuals impeccable, the narrative compelling, and the cutscenes outstanding. Even now, playing with headphones still gives me shivers.

SOMA,
Alien: Isolation,
Dying Light

I hadn't played video games in nearly ten years after a very gaming-focused upbringing, and considered them a complete waste. When I saw the trailers for those titles, I decided I had to give them a try. I started with SOMA and Alien on my modest costco desktops, which ran at extremely low frame rates but still left a strong impression. I quickly understood that games were a powerful art form and an amazing interactive way to tell stories and create experiences. A few months later, I upgraded my setup and played Dying Light... Games began to feel more realistic, something I had been eagerly anticipating.

After spending thousands of dollars and countless hours, I can confidently say I'm hooked.
