Some reports mention 5600X and 5800X models with two CCDs instead of the usual one. Experts suggest these might have been developed as upgraded versions but didn’t meet performance expectations, so they remain compatible as single-unit designs. Even though they function as a single CCD model, their unified L3 cache design keeps their value intact. It’s intriguing how these could become more common at lower core counts if such models ever appear.

It makes sense. They consistently do this kind of thing. For example, the Ryzen 3300X features two quad-core CCDs, with one turned off.

No exactly the same, as that has two CCX on one die, one CCX is disabled. Here they're using two dies (CCDs) with one CCD disabled. The 2nd die seems unnecessary. I suppose there is still precedence for that, on some of the Threadripper models when people delidded them they found "dummy" dies in place. I think that was speculated as done for mechanical reasons though, but we don't need that on AM4 CPUs.
