Hey everyone, I've been checking forums for similar issues and tried some fixes from those discussions, but nothing worked. It seems these freezes happen in a bunch of games, especially Halo Infinite, Rocket League, Fallout 4, and DayZ. The game stalls for 2 to 5 seconds before returning, and audio disappears completely during that time. In Rocket League I noticed the ping/server indicator appears. All my drivers are current, RAM checks show no issues up to four sticks, and even after clearing CMOS it still happens. No updates or patches have helped. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 3600X with an updated chipset, MSI x570-a Pro with a recent BIOS update, 32GB DDR4 RAM, RTX3070 graphics, and a Seasonic 620W PSU on Windows 11.
Unfortunately, diagnosing these issues is quite challenging based on my experience. You might want to review the game logs to look for clues.
It seems the games aren't capturing these micro-freezes. DayZ hasn't reported any crashes or freezes, but FO4 doesn't keep logs and I don't have the mod that would do so. Likewise, Halo Infinite doesn't log anything either.
I recently used it last night and tried it outside, but nothing happened.
What's your temperature? Did the PC always work well until suddenly something went wrong? When you refer to "reset windows," are you talking about a full reinstall using an ISO or a bootable USB drive?
