I prefer the look of File Explorer to be just perfect. A Last Modified heading is better than a Date label, and I want Explorer to open directly on This PC instead of other locations. Removing elements like Quick Access and History helps, but some apps still ignore this setup. When using third-party programs, files open in a different style, which is very frustrating. I've tried various Explorer alternatives, though most are ignored by software that always opens Explorer. I just want to keep using Explorer as it works for me.
Anyone have any ideas about what's going on?

What you're observing is the file dialog, which looks alike but isn't identical to File Explorer. I'm not aware of any option that allows customization or synchronization with how File Explorer handles that folder. The view settings are generally app-specific, meaning another app might display it differently (often using the default setting unless you've changed it previously).

Yeah, I'm still the same. My things keep shifting without any reason.
