A few of my keyboard keys aren't functioning, yet others operate together when one is working.
Essentially a month back the keys '5', '6', 's' and 'caps lock' ceased functioning. Initially, I kept pressing them for about a minute and they started working fine. They operated perfectly until my laptop powered off or went to sleep. A week prior I was unable to get them to respond after continuous presses, so I resorted to using an on-screen keyboard. Eventually they synchronized and then stopped together. Exhausted, I looked for fixes but tried updating drivers, uninstalling software, adjusting settings, and even resetting the computer—nothing helped. The keyboard troubleshooter didn’t appear in settings, which was confusing. Before sending my laptop to a technician, I posted about the issue here. I own an Asus Zepgyrus G14, purchased roughly a year ago, and have kept it well maintained.
If you connect a wired keyboard and try using the keys, will they function properly? If yes, then the drivers are correct—though the standard keyboard driver works on Asus laptops, but the generic trackpad driver doesn’t.
I don’t have a chance to test an external keyboard. If it’s faulty hardware, it might be an easy fix or repair. Thanks!
