It seems like you're suggesting that 4K resolution is attainable.

It depends on the situation; slightly undervolting can improve stability and longevity, but may reduce performance if the voltage is too low.

TRON 2.0 will operate at 4K resolution, but that doesn’t mean you should use modern settings. Most older game textures won’t scale well to 4K—you’ll probably see them upscaled to 1080p instead. Avoid running without a heatsink if possible; even a modest one with no fan won’t suffice. You’ll need a passive cooling solution built for CPUs. Some options include cases with built-in cooling, or a small ITX case paired with a dedicated passive cooler. Those are the main choices available.

I understand you're focusing on older games running smoothly. Just make sure the processor can handle them at high settings without overheating or slowing down too much.

Only slightly, but it doesn't matter because a heatsink without a fan still takes 10 seconds to warm up a lot.

Without a heatsink, a suitable passive cooling solution will keep things running smoothly.

You can look for AM4 sockets under $50 at local electronics stores, online marketplaces, or specialty hobby shops.

This model suits AM4 processors and has been tested with up to 58W TDP CPUs. It appears to be nearing the end of its life, though you might locate one on eBay. A slightly pricier choice ($58 plus shipping) supports CPUs up to 80W.
