I've been using the Debaurs manual 5GHz 24/7 preset in my Maximized XI Gene. The adaptive mode kept being unstable, so I thought it was due to my 9900K not performing well. While preparing the system for sale and running Prime95 to check stability, I noticed that Intel's XTU/CPU-Z/CPUID HW Monitor displayed varying values for VCORE, but none showed the preset value of 1.35V. To fix this, I adjusted the XTU to add an extra 0.1V to the VCORE, and it now runs at 80°C with direct die water cooling during Prime95 tests. Does this make sense?
Prime 95 isn't ideal; verify your setup before proceeding. The 80-degree reading under load seems reasonable.

It sometimes leads to worse problems than it solves. But everyone is different.
The p95 setting has been observed by many users here. This guide is for the 5GHz 24/7 configuration, which is predefined in the BIOS—just choose it to have automatic setup.
