9800X3D combined with AsRock MoBo produces a flickering green and red light.
Hey everyone, I just finished setting up my new PC and ran into a problem. Since I didn’t have the GPU yet, I assembled the system without one and used the CPU’s built-in graphics while installing Windows and other programs. When I power on the machine, I see this strange green flashing color covering the whole screen. This only happens when the AsRock logo appears right after startup. Once Windows loads, everything works properly and the color disappears. Also, when I enter BIOS, it’s fine. With my 9800X3D and AsRock board, I updated the BIOS to the latest version due to some reports of overheating issues with this setup. After the update, the screen color changed to a red flashing hue. Still no problems when Windows boots or I enter BIOS. For testing, I installed my RTX 2080 Ti from an older machine and there’s no flickering now. I’ve booted the system multiple times (10-20) without any issues. This makes me think there might be a problem with the CPU’s integrated graphics or possibly a bad HDMI connection in the motherboard. I’m wondering if this is something to worry about, or if it could cause bigger issues later. Thanks for your advice!

Share your experience with Microcenter's knowledge panel using the GPU you have (not in your PC). They mentioned that AMD could potentially refund you or provide a new CPU if the issue is covered under warranty. This solution applies only if the warranty remains active. A similar situation occurred where I received my PC and found the CPU was damaged from the start. After visiting Microcenter, they diagnosed the problem and replaced my CPU within two days (my model was 8500G).
