The drivers should be adjusted. It's better to revert rather than update to the newest version.

He’s experiencing thermal throttling. Adjust the fan curve and consider reducing the room temperature.

It looks like you're doing well with Ultra at 1440p and have a 980TI SLI setup.

Support us here. Turn off a card and search for some volumetric debris.

Have you updated the driver? On my system I consistently achieve 70-100 FPS at 1440p with Ultra settings, shadows and textures enabled on Nightmare. The game runs smoothly without any problems so far. (My GPU stays under 70°C with a clock speed of 1430 MHz.)

At 83°C the throttling point is being reached, which indicates a problem. Throttling occurs when the GPU reduces its performance to prevent overheating before returning to normal speed. To stop this, you should increase the fan speed on your GPU using software such as MSI Afterburner.

It's quite disappointing watching the PS4/Xbone performance; it ran smoothly despite limited graphics. I saw some players play and it seemed well-optimized, though it might not have been very thrilling. The controller felt a bit unresponsive.

I mentioned lowering it to 30 and then increasing back to 60 repeatedly. With V-Sync enabled, turning it off should stop the pattern.

Discussing V-Sync often means it's still in use by some people.
