I tried to achieve a stable 9700K at 5Ghz with 1.37V across all cores. Used Prime95 v26.6 for an hour and a minute without errors or warnings. Temperatures stayed in the high 80s during peak loads. During gameplay, my cores kept jumping between 4.6 to 5Ghz, which seems to cause the "rainbow" display on the screen below. Voltage dropped from about 1.370 to around 1.34 times its value. I suspect this is due to CPU downtime while switching between different games. My AVX offset is set to -4, which translates to roughly -400MHz—could that be the issue? I’m not very familiar with AVX or low-level cache behavior, but it might be related. Also, my load line calibration is at level 6, which could contribute to the instability. I’m unsure about LLC settings either, but they seem to play a role too. If I revert LLC to lower levels or let it auto-adjust, maybe it’ll help. I’d like to try that and would appreciate any additional optimization tips. Thanks for your help! Happy New Year.

This tool helps the CPU perform better when AVX instructions aren't available. Intel CPUs get hotter and less reliable with AVX, so skipping them lets you extract more performance elsewhere. You might also consider using P95 v26.6, which doesn’t rely on AVX. Set an AVX offset to maintain stability while keeping voltage and LLC settings consistent with the latest P95 version. Overclock the cache or ring, staying within about 300MHz of the core clock. Essentially, prioritize core and ring speeds first, then apply the AVX adjustment, and finally tweak the voltage drop a bit. For voltage control, allow a small drop—like 1.4V to 1.35V when fully loaded—but keep it manageable.

Adjust AVX offset to zero; performance remains consistent at 5GHz. Slight increase in temperature is acceptable since it won’t impact gaming significantly.
