The boost frequency varies by core count: 4.6GHz for one core, 4.5GHz for two cores, 4.4GHz for four cores, 4.3GHz for six cores. Confirm if you're targeting 4.2GHz or just below 4.3GHz. Are you using the default motherboard settings in addition to XMP? Which tool are you employing for stress testing the CPU?

With a Z-board setup, you can turn on "Sync All Cores," updating the boost settings to 4.6Ghz across all processors. Alternatively, you can manually adjust the overclock. Most 9600k configurations should reach around 5.0Ghz with proper cooling.

Might depend on Intel's restrictions. Using XMP can increase power usage quicker and might enhance AVX-1 performance.

I was testing The Division 2 and GTA V using MSI Afterburner to track each core. It's just a bit below 4.3Ghz across all cores. Is there an option to sync all cores in the BIOS? I'm using a Corsair H100i cooler, and my idle temperature is about 32°C. During Division 2 playtime, it stays around 48°C—close to 5Ghz but not quite. I noticed some YouTube game benchmarks showing 9600K at 4.6Ghz all cores, which might explain the difference. That's why I reached out.
