in my opinion, the i3 is more affordable and provides a better boost clock while using the same core and thread. i’m leaning toward intel for a higher clock speed but worry that upgrading to i5 or i7 could make it expensive. on the other hand, amd’s ryzen 5 and 7 seem cheaper and offer more threads. i’ll likely stick with 1080p using aeg and premiere mainly for gaming esports, though i might upgrade to an i5 or ryzen 5 later if needed.

Consider Ryzen for now because they’re set to launch Zen 3 next year, giving you time to decide. You can opt for higher performance now or choose a more affordable CPU with a cheaper upgrade route later.

No, Zen 3 does not use AM4. It is based on a different architecture.

I believe I observed it confirmed as AM4, as it will remain in use through 2020.

LGA1151-2 is no longer relevant this year. The 9100F isn't suitable because it lacks the iGPU needed for QuickSync and OpenCL, unlike non-F CPUs. If you're limited to a 9100F, consider the 3200G instead.
