I've managed that (using Chrome tabs), added a game, and began working on Photoshop... it wasn't sufficient, only just hit 12GB.

Your device is running at 4.2 gigabytes of RAM with only basic background apps and five Chrome tabs active. *insert bruh meme here*

Previously mentioned, 8 GB is more than sufficient. In fact, just run a cleaner setup during gaming. Disable background applications you don’t need, because if that’s an issue for you, there are likely other priorities to address, like your future.

It should work well now and in a few years, but it relies on the ports being solid—especially if you're focusing on consoles. If the port is terrible, like it's getting worse these days, you might end up needing a lot more memory.

I'm updating my knowledge—8GB now equals 4GB, and 16GB is the updated version of 8GB.

When playing in fullscreen, things work fine. But if you're browsing the web, checking social media, streaming YouTube, or using other apps at the same time, your system feels sluggish. Adding virtual machine software only makes it slower. If you're using a lot of programs simultaneously and don’t really need them, upgrading to a 16 GB drive would be a good idea.

Sure, just make sure to close Chrome before you start gaming.

I possess 16 GB, which is more than enough for the near future.

Uncertain, but even cod10 needs at least 6GB from last year. The top option is 16GB.
