8700k Vdroop Help
Hey everyone,
I’m new to overclocking and have a bit above average understanding of the subject.
Right now I’m facing a small voltage drop and I’m curious if it’s typical or something I can fix.
I’m currently running a 4.7ghz overclock on my 8700k at 1.265v, with temperatures around 85°C after about three hours of Prime95 version 26.6 using a small FTT profile.
I also did a blend test and everything worked fine.
On my ASUS Prime Z370-A, the hardwareid usually stays at 1.264v during normal gaming or productivity tasks, but drops to 1.248v under full load and stabilizes.
When I run AIDA64, it oscillates between 1.248v and 1.264v almost every 6-7 seconds, which is also unusual compared to Prime95.
A few notes:
- The voltage limiter is set to level 6 on my machine
- All power-saving features are disabled
- MCE is turned off
(Not home yet, so these are the things I’m thinking about, and I’ll update later with more settings but generally it looks like most BIOS options should be off.)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Feel free to ask if I missed anything important for BIOS settings.
Was 4.7 GHz nicht der übliche 1- oder 2-Kerne-Turbo-Boost für den 8700K? Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob Anpassungen an den LLC-Einstellungen viel Nutzen bringen, wenn die Taktfrequenzen relativ normal sind, und ich würde auch nicht befürchten, dass die Spannung nicht konstant bleibt oder um 5-10 mV höher ist, solange der Prozessor stabil läuft.
(Warum sollte man MCE überhaupt deaktivieren? Wenn es aktiviert ist, aber dennoch im Ausgleichsleistungsmodus in den Leistungsplänen steht, lässt man sich erlauben, auf 4.7 GHz zu schalten und diese auf allen Kernen unter Last beizubehalten, während man bei leichter Nutzung auf 800-1200 MHz herunterfahren kann, zum Beispiel beim Surfen oder bei leichten Aufgaben.)
