Looking at these routers, the TP-Link AC1900 and Netgear R6700 seem solid choices. The Motorola AC1700 is a bit pricier but offers strong performance. For long-term use, consider what you need most—coverage, speed, and ease of setup. If you plan to stream a lot, prioritize devices that handle bandwidth well. Don’t forget to check the signal strength in different rooms; positioning matters. Let me know if you want tips on optimizing each setup!

I’d choose the Netgear Nighthawk. Comparing the models isn’t really useful; it’s more about what fits your needs.

Linus suggests checking reliable sites for reviews before buying. Many of these products have harsh feedback alongside some average five-star ratings. The three-year gap also affects my choice, especially since the marketing and specifications on Motorola seem weak. It popped up just a few days ago.

The Motorola brand is managed by Zoom. I haven’t used it before. I’ve installed a TP Link Archer C7 once, it functioned smoothly but the firmware was quite basic. Netgear and ASUS are among the leading brands mentioned here.

Do you fit the Dogg vibe with that addition? The ASUS RT-ACRH17 Concurrent Dual Band AC1700.

The Zoom ads kept me gripping the phone tightly. The "Zoom" sound signaled the end of that brand’s presence. Curious about their licensing deal with Motorola.

They acquired it from Arris. Arris controls the Motorola modem division, though they don’t brand it themselves since Arris is a reputable manufacturer. This situation began when Google purchased Motorola and transferred the modem business to Arris while selling the phone business to Lenovo.

You're really into this stuff! If you were purchasing the router for someone you care about, would you choose Netgear or ASUS? It's like the Seagate/WD Ford/Chevy choice—someone's got to make the call. I'm just sharing my thoughts here; it's something I really enjoy doing in my free time. Getting my headphones took a year, and my headset was a quick three months (Bose QC35ii, Astro A10). I don't want to feel like I'm making a mistake when I see better options available for just a bit more money.

The last router I purchased was from Synology. Haha, but it's over your budget—it cost around $199. Look at https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/; they've done all the testing and have the details. I'm comparing Asus and Netgear models in your price range. Choose the one that fits your needs, just ensure it has AC.

There seems to be no mention of VPN compatibility issues with Asus devices. The information suggests that VPN access is possible, possibly through other means or configurations. The 2017 model appears to have been a selling point, but current tech might handle it differently. If you're unsure, checking the latest firmware or contacting support could clarify things.
