7th generation i7 8700 rtx 3080 with 4K upgrade
I am testing an i7 8700 non k with an i9 msi gtx 1080ti, an asus z370 f gaming board, and a 1080p 144hz display. I want to know if switching to an rtx 3080 or 3080ti will let me run all new AAA games at maximum settings in 4k at 80-100 fps, assuming I upgrade the display too. Is my current system sufficient, or should I consider replacing it with a newer i7 when it becomes available?
Rtx 3090 performance tests are approaching. It seems likely Nvidia won't launch a 3080Ti that could surpass its flagship 3090. We'll find out how much better the 3090 really is and whether a Ti version fits in between it and the 3080.
8700 works well at 200+ fps without any problems. The main concern is whether 3080 or 3090 meets your detail needs. There are new benchmarks available for the 3080—check them to see if you're satisfied, or consider adding about 10 extra fps for the 3090, as we won't know for sure until more data becomes available.
Get the Card and use it , and if you intend to game on 4K in the future it is better to wait for the rumored RTX 3080 with 20GB of VRAM.
and there is no need to upgrade the whole system , because simply you can just try the card on it ,if you like it then keep it , if you dont , then move the GPU into the other system
😉
