7900x vs... x3d?
Essentially multiplayer experiences can reach up to +50% higher frame rates than non-3D titles from the same era. My tests with a 7950x3D showed Diablo 4 around 120 fps versus about 180 fps for Warframe, and roughly 160 fps for Diablo compared to ~240 fps on 3D. These numbers apply in situations with dense crowds of human and NPC characters moving around. This doesn’t even cover the consistency of the frame rate, which I noticed sharply improved when switching from a 3950x to a 5800x3D setup before my 7950x3D, especially between CCD0 and CCD1. It’s not saying 3D V-cache isn’t useful for single-player games—it often helps—but it doesn’t always guarantee the smoothest performance. You won’t consistently find the absolute most fluid frames without 3D V-cache in today’s market.
Wait for the 9xxxx3d. The 7800x3d works but the 9xxxx3d is superior; you'll just need to replace it. You got a 4090, you don’t care about costs—get the best now or wait for the new one.
