Hey there, I'm putting together an HTPC with these parts:
AMD A10 7860K FM2+ "Godavari" CPU (Quad Core, 3.6 GHz, AMD Radeon R7 757 MHz, 65 W)
I'm using a 43" Plasma with plenty of BD films and only for light gaming when I need it.
RAM DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X4GB 2400Mhz
I know an APU performs much better with fast RAM.
3 Hard-drives
HGST Ultrastar 2TB
Seagate BarraCuda 1TB
Seagate BarraCuda 500GB
ASUS DRW-24F1ST
Now, I'm deciding between these two motherboards:
Gigabyte FM2+ mATX GA-F2A88XM-D3HP
Gigabyte FM2+ mATX GA-F2A68HM-H DDR3
Which one should I pick for proper OC of the A10 7860K?
I want to keep costs low, but I'd go with the F2A88XM if necessary.
Also, I'm connecting a 5.1 Logitech Z506 Speakers
The F2A88XM offers five audio outputs for a dedicated setup, while the F2A68HM has three and requires driver setup. Would that matter in quality?
PSU
I need advice on choosing the right wattage for this build, whether with or without overclocking.
Case
I'm torn between two options: one with two fans front/back (120mm) and another with three fans (120mm front/back and 200mm side). I can guess which is cheaper, but I'll pick the best one for an upgrade if needed.
I want to be sure and avoid risks—if these specs fall short, I prefer not to mess with overclocking at all.
Any wise suggestions from you O'Clockers would be greatly appreciated.
