Windows 7 or 10? I have an opt-in version set up for Windows 10 under my name, and I’ve already downloaded it. I’m considering if it’s safe to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my new system once it’s ready. My profile details match the specs of Windows 10, so I’m weighing the risks.

Sure, I can wait. The update won't arrive that fast.

I’m wrapping up my project around April or May, and I’d like to install the operating system on the SSD ahead of time. That way, when I complete the build, it will load much quicker.

I'll stick with version 8.1 for now. Offering free access to 8.1 for a limited time could really cut costs significantly.

Find Windows 7 or 8 for $10. Check out "microsoftsoftwareswap" online.

Windows 8 isn't something I'll ever use. I'll stick with Windows 7 until the new version releases, because that's not a good idea.

I’m testing Windows 8.1 or 10 on a daily basis and everything is working smoothly so far.

You can try booting from your laptop setup without switching OS, but make sure everything works as expected.

There is no reason to dislike 8. If you have 8 you must also hate 7. Otherwise you're not developing an opinion, you just jumped on the hate band wagon, or walked into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I disliked Windows 8, couldn’t tolerate it, so I went back to Windows 7 (before 8.1 was released). Recently, I bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1, and I’ve already noticed the differences—I really like 8.1.
