Hello, I noticed the costs for 9gen and 10gen CPUs are quite comparable. Would it be beneficial to invest more for the 10gen if you need a new motherboard?
Comparing the two processors and assessing performance gains is a common question. The upgrade from i5-7600 to i7-9700 could offer noticeable improvements, especially for demanding tasks.
9th and 10th models would both require a new motherboard for upgrading from the 7th generation. 7th and 9th use the same socket but have different chipsets, while 8th and 9th support the 1151(300series) chipset. The 10th also introduced hyper-threading, boosting performance and core count, with some additional IPC improvements that will be clearly noticeable.
