I've been considering this situation. With the main drawback of Windows 10, this machine seems like a car without fuel, though it still functions. If I switch back to Windows 7, what are the risks? My brother mentioned that doing so might erase my ability to return to Windows 10 if the new version is stable. He also shared his experience with a custom setup—removing all NVIDIA drivers before upgrading didn’t work, and even trying to uninstall them failed. It seems Windows 10 tightly controls what you get from 7. The thought is that going back to 7 could mean losing the free upgrade option if it gets fixed. What should I expect?
You can revert at any time, even if there are no issues. If you tried to force it, you have no valid reason to grumble. A natural upgrade ensures everything functions smoothly.
To remove the nvida drivers I needed to open Task Manager, stop all NVIDIA processes, then use Add or Remove Programs to delete every NVIDIA driver. After that, I downloaded the newest drivers from NVIDIA’s website. Before removing them, make sure you set up the device installation options in the search—choose “No, let me choose what to do” and enable “Never install driver software from Windows Update.” This should stop Windows from reinstalling them automatically. Once done, everything functioned properly (at least for now).
You have the option to reset and improve at no cost whenever you wish, provided it remains within the free period.
