Many people have thoughts on the product we picked, but few understand all available choices. A resource like Small Net Builder's reviews can help. https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/ If you had funds and space, I’d choose the newest Netgear Orbi system. I was very satisfied with the older Orbi model I installed at my parents’ home. The new version costs $1500 for a 3-pack.

The small builders appear to be lagging in rankings, with limited options for 6e. It seems there hasn't been much progress yet. As for whether Rbk963 is worth it or if RBK853 remains the best choice, it depends on how widely 6e is embraced.

@rickeo highlighted what functions best for them. Most forum members likely haven’t dealt with various mesh systems to compare effectively. Still, I’m pleased with the TP-Link Deco X68s I purchased for my home. Not 6E (unaware of any), but I managed full coverage in a three-story house using just two, and I can reach about 800Mbps at the farthest point from the modem, even on the ground floor. That’s sufficient for me.

I think many businesses are delaying their 6E initiatives because of the parts shortage. It’s not an ideal moment to introduce new products.

I noticed the deco IT appears to offer a high value at a reasonable price. However, what concerns me is the information provided. The description mentions a significant data collection aspect, stating that user data must be released. I reviewed it in the U.S. on August 28, 2020. The product is described as suitable for 3-5 bedrooms with a 3-pack setup. Before purchasing, always check the privacy policy in the manual. Installation depends on agreeing to the manufacturer's data policies. Would it be better if customers could choose how much data they share? I didn’t install it and returned it. I’ll look for an alternative router.

Other users found this useful:
- Security rating: 1 out of 5 stars
- Reviewed in the U.S. on September 13, 2020
- Verified purchase, 3-5 bedrooms, 3-pack

Please read the privacy policy carefully before buying. The policy covers automatic data downloads, including internet usage. Would you like me to check if there are any recent improvements or updates?

Some comments highlight poor encryption—only TKIP and not WPA2/AES. No support for 2.4 or 5 GHz channels. The manufacturer acknowledged these issues since 2019 but hasn’t addressed them. As a router, it can’t be customized locally or via web interface; only IOS apps work. Recent Apple updates flag this device as having weak security. Overall, the deco line seems outdated and unsupported. If you need coverage, consider other options with better protection.

I'm not sure what that's all about, particularly the last post. It has all the latest security, even WPA3. It does have a web interface and an Android app. It's also not an orphaned product line. TP-Link is pushing the Deco line hard. It's either a really old post or the user is absolutely clueless.

I don’t have any background with it. I’m happy you shared your thoughts. The issue in question really concerns me, and I’m unsure why anyone would choose to do that.

The same reason Microsoft keeps user information in Windows is that they can offer it to advertisers.

Microsoft doesn't trade user information; they handle it internally because its worth is too great to share publicly. Based on insights from seasoned colleagues: Netgear Orbi is the best option, or consider skipping 6E and moving to WiFi 6 for now. Only a handful of products offer such a strong performance-to-cost ratio.
