6700k Overheat Issue Detected
Hi everyone, I'm running my 6700k under very high temps and think it could be linked to the aio pump. It still feels a bit intense even after long runs. Once it's off, it idles between 75-95°C with only light load and the Corsair H115 fans spinning fast—almost like they're taking off. I can't get past the BIOS screen because it gets too hot to boot. I've applied thermal paste and adjusted the fan settings multiple times, but everything seems to be working. Is this really the aio issue? Could it be the main source of the heat? If I try a cheaper air cooler, would that bring things down to normal idle temps? I'm not sure if I should invest in a new cooler or consider replacing the whole CPU/Motherboard setup now. Thanks in advance, Chris!
Can you take out the cooler? It looks like it's probably the pump.
Check the AIO for warmth in both inlet and outlet tubes. Determine if one feels more heated than the other. Confirm the pump header is securely connected after installing the new thermal paste on the CPU.
Connected via a three-pin connector since the system didn’t start with the water cooler but it’s still a three-pin plug. I’ve changed it to the water cooler and repositioned one of the fans to the CPU fan slot, planning to try it out.
