Hello, I've faced similar issues where my 6700k was restricting performance in games. I thought it was time to overclock, but I couldn't actually do it. I turned off all power and temperature saving features in BIOS and set the CPU state to 100%. When I booted into Windows, the CPU was running at a steady 4.2ghz with a multiplier of x42 shown in CPU-Z, even though I had it set to 4.3ghz with x43. I tried adjusting to 4.4 or 4.5, but it didn't update correctly. The XMP profile was active, and the RAM speed displayed accurately. My MOBO is a Z170-XP rev1 from Gigabyte, and someone had already done a walkthrough guide for the same motherboard and CPU. I even copied their settings, but couldn't get it to work. (Link here for reference.)
16GB 2400Mhz RAM
Any advice before attempting the BCLK route?
Thanks.

I'm really confused about what's happening here. I wasn't able to get any results with higher clock speeds in Windows, so I began adjusting the BCLK frequency. I tried 104.9 MHz instead of 100 MHz, but CPU-Z shows my core speed as 4.4 GHz while BIOS says x43 multiplier, which is set to x42. MSI Afterburner also reports 4.2 GHz, and Task Manager confirms it. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I wasn't able to solve it, but I discovered a solution.
I need to increase the CPU speed using the Intel Turbo feature. I have to adjust the Turbo setting for each core to the desired multiplier... looks like it's working. Quite strange 🤷‍♂️
