6600k OC
Hey guys, yesterday I tested my old i5 6600k at 4.5ghz using 1.200V and BIOS settings. Everything worked smoothly—100% load, core temps stayed around 47°C. That’s pretty low voltage for that speed, but it seems fine.
It varies based on the stress test method. I wouldn't drop below 1.25v at 4.2 GHz for stable Prime95, though lighter tasks might handle higher loads. Around 4.7 was generally considered safe for air-cooled overclocking on that era if stability wasn't required, though I don't remember the exact voltage setting.
Received 4.8ghz performance with stable 1.356V power. Operating temperature stays at 71max throughout.
