Hi, I just finished a new build with a 6600k. I've discovered that 4.2ghz is stable at 1.250 vcore. I understand it's not high, but that's what I'm aiming for.
I'm wondering how to activate Intel SpeedStep so the CPU automatically lowers its frequency and voltage during idle to 3.5ghz and a lower vcore. My current setup shows vcore/freq staying at 1.25v/4200mhz without changing.
I've tried turning on Turbo Boost & SpeedStep, but it doesn't reduce the step down.
I'm using: 6600k, Asus Maximus Ranger VIII Z170, Dark Rock Slim Cooler, Corsair rm650x.

Ensure your PC remains balanced; if overclocking, switch to adaptive mode instead.

Ensure your PC remains balanced; otherwise, during overclocking use Override and switch to adaptive.

Thank you, I've adjusted the balanced power settings and in bios ivw set vcore max to 1.250, adaptive. That's completed.
