Hi there
After reviewing many guides on CPU overclocking, I implemented the following adjustments in my Asus z170a BIOS to hit 4.6gh:
- Core ratio set to 46 (all cores)
- Vcore voltage switched from Auto to Adaptive
- Turbo boost Vcore voltage configured at 1.260
- Offset left as Auto
No RAM changes were made—no XMP profile applied, everything remains automatic
Currently everything appears fine, but I’m concerned about my CPU temperature. When playing "Counter-Strike Global Offensive" in the Real Temp app, the peak CPU temperature reaches 73°C after more than 15 minutes of continuous play.
I wonder if maintaining a temperature around 70°C for extended periods could pose any risks in the future.
My system specifications are:
CPU: Core i5 6600K
RAM: G.skill Trident Z 4*4 (3200MHz)
Cooler: Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120M BW Rev.A
Please let me know your thoughts.

I believe the temperature is suitable, but based on your research, please conduct thorough stability tests.

Thank you for your response, I'm not experiencing any stability issues, though I'm worried about the temperature and lifespan of my CPU at 73°C.

I don't have any concerns about 73C. You're certain there are no stability problems?
