Be mindful that certain updates include refreshed microcode which might lead to problems. For example, during overclocking the g3258 on non-z motherboards, Windows updates had microcode that caused the CPU to either run one core overclocked or both cores at stock but not simultaneously active. Such issues are inevitable. The safest approach for overclocking with a z series board is to try the 6600k.

Thanks to everyone, I checked earlier that it's possible with the correct bios, but I'm curious if that's still valid in 2017.
