Hey there, I just switched my RAM from 32GB to 64GB and noticed a big change in performance. Games that used to run smoothly now have noticeable drops in frames, stuttering, and a shaky feel. Before the upgrade everything was fast. Here’s what I have:
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
- Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid Cooler
- SSD: SABRENT 2TB M.2 NVMe Gen 4
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 64GB (4×16GB) at 5200MHz
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
- PSU: Corsair HX1000 1000W 80+ Platinum Modular

What’s happening: Frames drop suddenly and the gameplay feels unstable. I’ve checked the RAM placement but haven’t adjusted anything else.
I’m wondering if this is due to RAM compatibility, BIOS settings, or another factor. I’m not very comfortable with BIOS tweaks. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

The Ryzen 7000 series doesn't support four RAM sticks. Removing the two new ones might eliminate stutters. Consider updating the BIOS if you haven't already, as newer versions often offer better compatibility.

Confirmed the RAM operates at its specified frequency. For instance, with 2x16GB of DDR5 6400, but the new installation slowed it to 4800, it would affect performance.

Confirmed with earlier updates. Verify the current speed versus the previous two sticks. In the worst scenario, consider swapping the entire setup for 2x32GB if a 64GB upgrade is necessary.

Because four RAM modules put more strain on the CPU, the RAM might be operating slower than your earlier two sticks. Having four sticks doesn't necessarily improve gaming performance compared to two sticks. Consider getting two 32GB units instead.

The simplest method involves a complimentary tool such as CPU-Z. You may upload a snapshot of the "memory" and "SPD" sections.
