60Hz - 1080 or 1440
The primary purpose of my computer is photo editing, which requires a 4k 60Hz display. Given that I'm working at 60Hz, does using a 1080-107fps game offer any advantages compared to 1440-72fps? I've already eliminated 2160-39fps.
I would purchase a dedicated gaming computer instead of forcing myself to use a 60Hz display.
It depends on what you prioritize: sharper visuals or smoother gameplay.
I designed my system with 1440p in mind and wouldn’t compromise on that.
However, even with a 60Hz refresh rate, higher FPS will result in more frequent 'up-to-date' frames. As Princess Luna advised, be cautious of tearing and stuttering.
At faster frame rates, you might notice improved timing between button presses and their display on the screen, leading to a more responsive experience.
Using an NVIDIA GPU with Fast Sync prevents tearing and delivers the most recent frame before the next refresh. It seems all Turing GPUs handle integer scaling, which could enhance visuals on a 4K display when this feature is active.
