I connected several RGB WS2812B LEDs to a Bluetooth controller behind my desk. They should activate when my PC starts. Adding an external switch from the PC would be ideal. Each LED operates at 5V and draws up to 3.5A. The PSU model is Rm750x B450 with a M.2 slot. I also have a Commander Pro controller available if needed.

Yes, you can use power directly without Bluetooth. It usually has a 5V supply, but the exact model varies. For three 3.5A circuits, one rail might be sufficient if properly managed. The distance between lights and the computer shouldn’t cause issues as long as there’s enough clearance.

I've watched YouTube videos showing how to power 12V CPU fans using a hacked USB from the 5V rail—it functioned properly. For 3.5A applications, you should verify if the USB can handle that current before proceeding.

Usb 2 delivers roughly 500mW, while usb 3 provides around a maximum of about 1A.

You can modify your power supply by using a Molex-to-SATA adapter or a Molex-to-Molex adapter and remove excess connectors. This leaves you with the female end that fits the original connector and wires for 5V and 12V, while ignoring the 12V wire. Your PSU uses Molex cables, and I have a question about warranty. Was there any mention that altering PSU cables can void the warranty?

I'd say that depends on the type of messing around you do and if it leaves any visible damage on the PSU and/or the cables that are firmly attached to it

its a modular psu so thats ok. so in case theres ever a problem and they want wires back i might just buy an adapter and cut that up. thanks.
