Would -62 dBm on 5GHz be preferable over -50 dBm on 2.4GHz for online gaming? Your three other roommates stick to the 2.4GHz band since they don’t have desktops, and you’re considering how signal quality affects gaming performance.

In terms of speed there's little to no difference (real word download test). But 5GHz is generally more stable.
