5950x or 3960

Getting really impatient waiting for stock to hit the stores... I'm really about to jump ship and get the 3960. My question is if it's worth it or not. I was really thinking of shelling out the exorbitant amount today for the 5950x, but I'm not desperate enough to support scalpers. I also saw the 3950x just under 700, so that might also be appealing, although, I do like the idea of 24 cores the 3960 provides... I need help. If this helps, I do all sorts of media for a living. Graphic design, photography, videography... Most of my income come from weddings, so I'm constantly using premier, lightroom, photoshop, and after effects.

I focus on boosting output and streamlining work. The key concern is whether the system can handle 48 threads and if a 5800X would be enough, or if a 3960X is necessary.

I work in 4K resolution and think more processing power or storage helps your setup manage heavy editing tasks like cleaning a 4K timeline in Premiere or After Effects.

This software isn't something I'm used to, so I'm looking to expand it to 48 cores. If you earn a lot from it, you could likely afford almost anything profitable, right? It sounds like you'd want the most powerful CPU possible once you're that successful.
