The 5600X holds up to 95°C, while the 5800X/5900X/5950X only reach 90°C. I cool mine naturally using a Scythe Mugen 5 and six 120mm Corsairs, never exceeding 87°C even with PBO on, dropping to 76°C without it. With a 30-minute Cinebench R23 run, I never surpass 72°C. Not even close. The default core boost on my 5900X is 4.4GHz, and with PBO this should reach around 4.5-4.6GHz. Even with my poor 5900X, these speeds are easily measurable in tools like Cinebench. Not what I expected. All Ryzen 5000 series CPUs use the same TJMax configuration—95C by default, 105C when adjusting the multiplier. PBO maintains them at 90C OP. There are a couple of factors I suspect right now: the Liquid Freezer II 360mm should be sufficient to keep the chip cool. Idle temps should hover near 40-45C, and core boost should stay around 4.4GHz in R23 while hitting mid to high 70s at stock, then dropping to low to mid 80s with PBO enabled. Probably the fans aren’t spinning or the cooler isn’t installed correctly. I’d verify the fans are running and re-mount/repaste the cooler to see if that resolves the issue.
