Thanks for the insights, the B450 mortar is what I'm planning to use with my current 2700x once I upgrade to the R9 5000 CPU. After that, I'll do some tweaks and see how it goes. Thanks again for the great conversation!

I chose a 5800x and based on what I've learned, the boost clock reaching 4.7ghz is realistic across all systems is accurate. I found benchmarks at 4.725 and 4.75 with liquid cooling on different MOBOs, and I'm satisfied with 4.6 for all systems. Anyone with more experience would be welcome to share their insights.
