Hi guys,
My current setup includes:
Intel i7 5820K
Asus ROG X99S Gaming
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB 3000MHz (4X4GB)
EVGA GTX 1080Ti
Corsair 750W
Previously I used the same CPU with a MSI GAMING7 motherboard, running at 4.5GHz at 1.3V. Now that I set the same clock and voltage, the system becomes very unstable—sometimes it crashes and sometimes it won’t post at all.

I started small and gradually increased the settings, but I still can’t get anything stable above 4GHz.
Do you have any idea? I’ve read that some people face difficulties overclocking on the X99 platform, but this is really frustrating.
Thank you!

Current settings differ from the previous board. Details about the last board are available if you recall from your ASUS X99 Deluxe with a 5820k and 4.4Ghz. You had it at 4.4Ghz, uncore at 4Ghz, and RAM required 2666(16GB) due to IMC limits, though you adjusted the timings.

Why restrict the motherboard to handle the overclocking tasks? Asus already includes overclocking features in the BIOS settings, so exploring its capabilities might be a better starting point.
