I'm cooling my 5800x using Arctic liquid freezer II 240 and Arctic mx 5. The case is Fractal meshify 2 compact (fan curve included). At idle it runs between 35-40°C, stress tested with AIDA64 for 15 minutes at 22°C ambient (stopped at 74°C and 4.55GHz). Only RAM XMP settings were adjusted to 3600 CL16-16-16-36. The temperatures seem within normal limits. I plan to replace the thermal paste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut once I receive it. Attached is a photo of the build.
I appreciate your update. Just plan to change the thermal paste once I receive it.
Why swap? It’s a fresh PC, you likely won’t need to change it. If everything works well, leave it alone—mistakes can happen, just like when removing the waterblock.
