Just to confirm, your motherboard likely doesn't support a 5600G APU. I recall reading that B550 and X570 only work with Ryzen 5000 APUs, which means other chipset options might not be compatible.
Looking back, I think the shift from 3000 to 5000 for their main desktops was driven by standardization. I believe only the Zen 2-based parts—specifically the 5300U, 5500U, and 5700U for laptops—were the first 5000 named laptop models. The 4000 series everything is Zen+ with possibly a few Zen 2 units, while the 2000 series laptops are mostly original Zen. It’s unlikely a Zen+ version was introduced, and the scarcity of 2000 series chips makes it less significant.
memory costs less now compared to last year, and the controllers in the 5600G perform well, so I’d opt for a bit more for quicker speeds. Something like this would work, though saving 16GB isn’t out of the question if needed.
