Your motherboard runs ASUS B550-F GAMING BIOS v2423 with max temperatures between 60-65°C (tested). The cooler is the Master Cooler 212 Black, and it's achieving around 4000MHz speeds, which is higher than expected. You've tried adjusting PBO settings in BIOS, but they didn't help. Have any suggestions? Thanks!

The base clock runs at 3.7GHz, so anything above that gets boosted. 4.6GHz essentially represents the top speed of one core under a single-core task. With multiple cores active, you won’t notice that performance drop. 4GHz for a complete multicore scenario feels quite limited, yet there are many factors influencing the decision to limit further boosts. Usually it’s due to thermal or power limits. It might also be affected by certain BIOS configurations.

My highest temperature is 65, which isn't too high for 5600x, so it probably isn't a cooling issue.

On this board using that chip, the maximum power output should reach 88 W when PBO is not active. Do you have the most recent AMD chipset drivers installed? Since I share the same board and chip, my notes are based on that.

It seems you're still using an outdated chipset driver, specifically version 3.08.xxx from August. Have you performed a BIOS reset to restore default settings?

Hi, this happened recently when I used PBO mode on my B450 Tomahawk Max with a full-core load. The CPU slowed down to 456Mhz, which was fine for single-core performance. It seems your motherboard might have an incorrect setting in the PBO parameters affecting boost speed. You could try autoOC since it has its own settings, which may resolve the issue if it's related to configuration. If not, it could be a faulty CPU—consider a BIOS reset first and then restoring original settings. A BIOS update and adjusting previous configurations also worked for me. I hope this helps!

It's not completely accurate. 5600X isn't exactly 5900X, which gives it good flexibility. The processor handles heat well. At full utilization, it should perform around 4750 with an OC load. The cooler selection and room temperature also influence the results.
