5600x, 5800x or 3900x available
I'm planning a new PC with a 3080 and am considering CPU options. I thought about the 3700X but settled on the 5600X. Now I’m leaning toward the 5800X because I want it to last longer and more cores will help with heavier games. The 3900X offers similar performance at a lower price, but it has fewer cores. What’s your recommendation?
5600x ideal for gaming, 5800x and higher suited for video/photo editing, streaming, etc.
For extended gaming, especially aiming for more than five years, the 5800x likely delivers solid value over time.
Playing games is playing games, unless you're handling tasks like editing or streaming. 5600x works just fine.
Suggest what you can get now or keep waiting next year. I attempted to buy two 5900x units but both failed. I was hoping for trouble but didn’t expect it. I’m on the same side about sticking with a long-term PC. I’m currently running a 2600k.
I need 5800 for starting streaming or creating content just in case.
This build looks good. All components are listed and priced correctly. Make sure to verify compatibility before assembly.
Attractive build overall. The 5800x has its issues, especially for gaming, though it’s not significantly worse than the 5600x. A $100 increase in your budget could make a big difference—opting for the 5900x would be a smarter choice.
