I bought a 5070Ti and upgraded from a 3060. The transition worked fine, but I’m still facing frequent driver issues that cause crashes. The problems are most noticeable in GTA V Enhanced and MSFS2024, though they appear elsewhere too. Crashes happen randomly, often after about 5 to 30 minutes of play. They don’t seem tied to GPU load—I can trigger them by staying on the loading screen in MSFS. When it does occur, my screen freezes, I can’t control inputs, audio may fail, and after roughly 10 to 20 seconds the display thaws but then crashes with error codes like ERR_GFX_STATE or DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x0 or 0x887a0006). My GPU is running at stable temps, hasn’t been overclocked. I’ve tried updating drivers, rolling back them, reseating the GPU with DDU, checking connections, getting a new PSU (though I thought it was power deficiency), adjusting HAGS, changing BAR size, optimizing settings via NVIDIA app, and updating BIOS. Still unsure what to do next—could this be a faulty GPU? I might visit the store next week if I can’t resolve it over the weekend.

Did you start in safe mode prior to setting up the new card? If not, do it. Additionally, you can switch off automatic driver updates in the DDU settings.

I’d boot up in safe mode and then head to the store. Likely there’s a GPU issue.

I managed to resolve the problem temporarily, but now I'm facing the same crash in flight simulator twice. I haven't completed thorough testing yet, though it seems to be the identical issue. Would reinstalling Windows help?

Open Event Viewer in the System folder. Apply filter for critical errors.

Three major issues were detected. The application name was incorrect, showing FlightSimulator2024.exe instead of the expected file. A fault occurred with version 1.6.34.0 at the specified timestamp. An exception code 0x80000003 was recorded, and the process ID was 0x5A4C. The faulting module pointed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MSFS2024\FlightSimulator2024.exe. Another identical error appeared, matching the same name and version details.

Attempt DDU once in safe mode. Adjust the prompt settings in DDU options. Pick "prevent windows update from installing drivers." Execute DDU again and opt for safe mode. Upon rebooting to safe mode, select "clean and shutdown for installing new GPU." Consider downloading Nvidia studio drivers instead: https://www.nvidia.com/en-in/geforce/dri...ts/260369/
