I was searching for a rig to run recent games at 1080p and came across this 4-core CPU for just $50. Do you think the 2200G is worth its price? I’ve already bought a 570 for $100, so APU doesn’t seem essential.

The 2200G isn't worth 100 euros when the 1200AF is only 50 euros.

With 100 euros you might receive a 3100, a much superior chip for gaming, and clearly the 1200AF outperforms the 2200G, particularly when you slightly overclock it, plus it's half the cost.

Sure, just confirming again. You have two 8GB drives—one at 2400Hz and the other at 3200Hz. Is having double channel worth it? You don’t need 16GB, and both will operate at 2400Hz for double channel.

Ironically, the 2200G employs first-gen Zen architecture even though it's a second-gen part, while the 1200AF uses the 12nm Zen + architecture despite being a first-gen model. Also, the dual-channel 2400 is significantly faster than the single-channel 3200.

For real CPU speed it seems dual-channel doesn't matter much, except for integrated graphics where shared memory and extra bandwidth help.

It doesn't include built-in graphics. Does that matter?

It significantly impacts CPU performance too. Anything that interacts with memory can achieve faster speeds using dual channels.

Latency in Ryzen hinges on memory speed and delays, showing a big jump from 2133 to 3200MHz and switching between single and dual channels. Intel also plays a role, but their architecture handles communication differently.
